BRUSHIE BRUSHIE BRUSHIE

For the love of all things apparently divine.

Whenever I get my mittens on a new game, I love to test and review it on my twitter (I probably should have a blog instead of using my twitter account…). I also love it when the game fucking runs properly to start with. Welcome to Fallout 3, and I can feel whoever reads this cringing.

Not only will it refuse to work on my hyperthreaded dual core laptop but even the official launcher is that fucking broken it won’t load DLC. (for the techno illiterate, hyperthreading technically doubles the amount of cores, making the laptop a quad core) Turns out the Fallout 3 engine has issues with computers with more than 2 cores. Considering this game was released in 2008 I thought the engine would be happy to work with the computer to cut the amount of cores it detects. Yeah that went to plan, even all the fixes on the Steam forum didn’t work.

I guess this is a good time to point out it works perfectly on the big computer (proper dual core) so I have been able to play it, except the launcher, thank god for FOMM (fallout modmanager) and for the sake of my sanity I shall speak no more of the launcher. So far the HUD makes my eyes bleed in almost any colour, the irritating pipboy thingy pisses me off and the hotkeys aren’t working for some odd reason.

I guess I might come to like it a bit more once it starts working properly but right now I can’t even force myself to like it.

Also, I might move my reviews to my Tumblr. You’ve been warned. The only thing is don’t expect them to be recent up to date games, I don’t have a job and if I did I’d be saving for personal goals and Uni over every single game released.

Hey Hey it’s IMO day.

Yes, I used to blame video games for violence, I’ll admit that because I witnessed it first hand but they only lead to a small punch up between siblings and severe groundings.

I’ve now changed my mind mostly on the links between them and violence, as I play pretty violent shit and so do my friends (as violent as Australia will allow anyway…) and we don’t go around shooting, stabbing and beating people to death with dildos. Notice that Australia has gun laws? And we don’t get mass shootings every 5 odd years? (we just have a minor problem with drive-bys in Sydney at the moment).

And I just love how some American politics are quick to point fingers at said violent games. Are they too scared to realize it might be their own stupidity and stubbornness that’s part of the problem. Maybe they need to have the bullet proof glass removed from their limos for a bit.

I’m not saying an almost complete banning (like Australia, although it works 80% of the time) of guns is needed in America, just more control then there is already.

Also if you’re eight years old get the fuck off Tumblr, get the fuck off CoD/GTA and go the fuck outside, you’ll have plenty of time in your teens for pixels. When you’re 13 I won’t give a fuck, just pre-teen is too young for that crap.

I know not everyone of my followers (not that there’s many…) will agree with this, but ya’know, I’m not a carbon copy of you. I’m a completely different DNA track.

Time to go hibernate again…

“A Hero’s Life”
The loneliest people are the kindest The saddest people smile the brightest The most damaged people are the wisest All because they do not wish to see anyone else suffer the way they do
I found this quote earlier today (author unknown), and instantly thought of Optimus Prime. Fits him perfectly, in a sad kinda way…
